Musahab Wrap in Mississauga: Halal Iraqi Pulled Chicken at KetKoot
Picture chicken that’s been soaking in garlic, citrus, and warm spices for a day and a half. It hits the grill, the edges char, the outside caramelizes, and the inside stays juicy. Then it comes off hot, gets pulled apart by hand, tossed in sauce, and rolled up tight. That’s the Musahab, and it’s the wrap our Ridgeway Plaza regulars order without looking at the menu.
What Is Musahab?
Pulled Chargrilled Chicken, Wrapped Tight
Musahab is KetKoot’s pulled chicken wrap. We take the same chargrilled chicken that fills our boxes and family platters, pull it apart by hand while it’s still steaming, and toss it in your choice of hot or mild sauce. A drizzle of house-made KetKoot sauce goes on before it’s wrapped, so you get saucy, flame-grilled chicken from the first bite to the last.
Pulled chicken wraps show up all over Middle Eastern cooking, so the format itself isn’t exclusive to Iraq. What gives ours its flavour is everything that happens before the pulling: the Iraqi-style marinade and the time on the grill.
Why We Call It Our Signature
Our whole menu runs on one idea: marinate the chicken long enough for the flavour to go all the way through, then chargrill it to order. The Musahab packs all of that into something you can hold in one hand. It’s the same chicken that goes into our sliders and pulled chicken bowls, which makes it the quickest way to find out what KetKoot is about.
What Goes Into a KetKoot Musahab
A wrap doesn’t leave much room to hide. Here’s what’s in ours.
36-Hour Marinated, Chargrilled Chicken
Every piece of chicken at KetKoot marinates for 36 hours before it touches the grill. Garlic, citrus, and a warm, baharat-style spice blend work their way deep into the meat, so the flavour isn’t just sitting on the surface. Then it’s chargrilled to order over high heat until the edges blister and char.
Hot or Mild Sauce
Once the chicken is pulled, it gets tossed in sauce, and you pick the level. Go hot if you want your wrap to fight back a little. Go mild if you’d rather let the garlic and warm spice of the marinade lead.
KetKoot Sauce and Garlic Sauce
Every Musahab gets a drizzle of KetKoot sauce, our house-made spicy sauce and the one people ask for extra of. Order the Musahab Meal and you’ll also get house-made garlic sauce on the side, along with seasoned fries, another KetKoot sauce, and a soft drink. Getting the wrap on its own? Add garlic sauce for $1.49 and dip as you go. Sharp garlic against hot chargrilled chicken is a hard combination to beat.
How Musahab Compares to a Shawarma Wrap
Both are chicken, both come wrapped, and both have roots in Middle Eastern cooking. That’s about where the similarities stop.
KetKoot Musahab
Chicken Shawarma Wrap
How the chicken cooks
Whole cuts, chargrilled over direct heat
Stacked on a vertical rotisserie, roasted slowly
How it’s cut
Pulled apart by hand
Shaved into thin slices
Texture
Juicy strands with charred, crispy edges
Even slices with crisped outer edges
Where the flavour comes from
36-hour marinade plus the char from the grill
Marinade plus slow roasting on the spit
Pulled by Hand, Not Shaved
Shawarma is shaved. Thin slices get carved off a tall stack of meat as it turns, so every strip comes out about the same. Musahab is pulled. Chunks of grilled chicken get torn apart by hand, which gives you a mix of textures in every bite: soft, juicy strands right next to crispy, charred edges.
Pulling it by hand keeps those crispy, charred bits mixed in with the tender, juicy pieces. Ask anyone who’s had one: those bits are the best part.
Chargrilled Instead of Rotisserie
Shawarma builds flavour slowly, with the outer layers roasting and getting shaved off over hours. Our chicken goes straight onto the grill in whole cuts and cooks over direct, high heat in one go. The flame is where the char comes from. The 36-hour marinade is where the flavour comes from. Pulling the chicken afterward just puts both in the same mouthful.
Musahab, Sliders, or a Rice Bowl: Which Should You Order?
All three are built on the same pulled chargrilled chicken. The real question is how you want to eat it.

Is KetKoot's Musahab Halal?
For a lot of our guests, that’s the first question, and it deserves a straight answer: yes.
Zabiha Chicken, No Pork, No Alcohol
All of KetKoot’s chicken is 100% halal and hand-slaughtered according to the zabiha method. KetKoot is Muslim-owned, and the entire kitchen is halal. There’s no pork and no non-halal meat anywhere on the line, so nothing in your Musahab shares a grill, fryer oil, prep surface, or utensils with anything that isn’t halal. The menu is completely alcohol-free.
For the families who rely on it, halal is a matter of faith, ethics, and cleanliness, and we treat it that way. The flavour is for everyone, though. If you’ve never tried Iraqi-style chicken before, a Musahab is a pretty good place to start.

Musahab Frequently Asked Questions
What does musahab taste like?
Think juicy pulled chicken with a garlic and citrus backbone, warm spice from the 36-hour marinade, and charred edges from the grill. KetKoot sauce pulls it all together.
Is the musahab spicy?
Only as spicy as you want it. Order it hot for a real kick or mild for gentler heat. KetKoot sauce has a bit of heat of its own, so if you’re keeping things tame, mention it when you order.
Is one wrap enough for a meal?
For a light lunch, the wrap on its own does the job. If you’re hungrier, the Musahab Meal adds seasoned fries, KetKoot sauce, garlic sauce, and a soft drink for $16.99. Still hungry after that? Add a chicken slider for $4.99.
Does KetKoot deliver musahab?
Yes, through Uber Eats and other delivery apps. We don’t have our own delivery drivers, so ordering through an app is how you get it to your door. If you’re close by, calling ahead for pickup is usually the quickest way to get it hot.
